£18,430 – £22,309 pro rata

Are you looking to get into management? As someone who is able to work off their own initiative and support people wishing to volunteer in the service you will oversee the recruitment and line management of those volunteers. With support from the service management team you will be responsible for the volunteer program. No previous management experience is needed as training will be provided.

SMART is a well-established substance misuse organisation covering the Thames Valley and Luton areas. Key Duties

  • To recruit, screen, interview and check references of all volunteers
  • Conduct volunteer inductions
  • Facilitate regular reflective practice group supervision sessions, to maintain effective, skilled volunteers who are able to meet client needs and organisational goals
  • Support the development of appropriate volunteering opportunities and role descriptions based on the needs of the organisation.
  • Ensuring there is appropriate support and training for volunteers.
  • Ensuring that volunteers are offered continued development opportunities
  • Ensuring volunteers within the team operate within ethical and professional boundaries
  • Offering advice and information to volunteers and external organisations through face-to-face, telephone and email contact.
  • To monitor and review volunteer placements to ensure volunteers receive sufficient support and training to achieve their goals.
