Salary range

 £18,430 – £22,309


Working as part of an energetic team, the post-holder will proactively engage drug and alcohol users who have been identified as requiring low to medium intensity treatment to overcome the effects of their problematic drug or alcohol use.  They will provide a range of interventions to those individuals and support them through the process of accessing treatment to achieve successful outcomes.

To meet the demands of this role the post you will need to be able to demonstrate empathy whilst keeping professional boundaries. Knowledge of substance misuse is not essential instead you will need to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.

Key Duties

  • Work with clients to address problem substance use and associated issues to support achieve recovery
  • Manage the referral process and carry out assessments.  identification of priorities and ongoing need
  • Deliver brief interventions, harm reduction advice and structured interventions
  • Facilitate needle exchange services
  • Manage the closure process and contact clients on Recovery Support
  • Support the facilitation of group work sessions with service users, including evening groups when appropriate
  • Supporting delivery of outreach services
  • To facilitate ‘drop in’ and peer support
  • Administration.
