SMART Skills for Recovery: Aim Level Award 1 in Skills for Employment and Further Learning
“Informative, inspirational, excellent”
SMART Skills past student, January 2016
When it comes to beginning to study, or going into the workplace it can be a struggle to know where to begin. This qualification will provide you with a solid start: combining down to earth practical skills with theories around substance misuse, you’ll leave with the skills you need to take your first positive steps into education or employment. Plus, as the course is accredited, you’ll leave with a qualification that is nationally recognised by potential employers and educational institutions. In addition to this, SMART Skills for Recovery is part of a larger educational framework, so when you finish you’ll have the credits to develop your education further.
The course is made up of two sections: fixed modules which all students have to study and optional modules, where you can choose to study a subject that suits you. Fixed modules include: issues of substance misuse, building a career portfolio and budgeting. Options that you can choose from include approaches to learning, customer services, motivation and volunteering.
