Families, Friends and Carers
You are not alone
Families, friends and carers can often be the silent victims of addiction. Many feel isolated and unable to talk to people about the difficulties they are experiencing, or their loved one’s drug or alcohol problem.
SMART provides a safe place to talk with people who understand the challenges you are facing, including many others in similar situations.
Families, friends and carers who attend our support services say they learn to cope by sharing their experiences. It helps them to realise they’re not alone, and to feel normal.
“You feel your problem is the biggest in the world… but here you can listen to others problems, and suddenly yours isn’t as big.”
We can offer support and help for you, so you can face the days or weeks ahead.
“It’s not a miracle fix for your kids (or other family or friend). When you come here it’s about how YOU are”
The families, friends and carers group can offer you relief.
