Quality

SMART are dedicated to a culture of continual learning and improvement.  Our Quality Assurance Working Group, overseen by our Quality Lead, focus on the four areas of SMART’s Quality Framework:

Clinical Governance and Practice Standards

We aim to ensure that we are fully compliant with governance expectations by:

  • Implementing a clinical governance framework benchmarked against sector requirements (See Governance page for more info)
  • Development of  SMART’s own Directory of Standards, aligned with best practice and evidence-based treatment
  • Regularly auditing our practices against the above standards.

Performance Management and Workforce Development

Our staff are our most important resource.  We are committed to their development in order to deliver high quality services and achieve positive outcomes.  Our robust performance and development processes enable us to measure and manage performance.  Our leadership competency framework also supports our staff to develop their skills for career progression.

Service User Involvement

It is vital that we listen and involve our service users in planning and delivering services and measuring staff performance.   We seek feedback from our service users through regular service user forums, to help us understand what we do well and where we can improve.

Organisational Culture

This includes a commitment to promoting  honesty and transparency, communicating our goals clearly and regularly, and developing  our staffs’ leadership skills.
