We are proud to announce that four of our Bracknell team have been awarded Commendations by the Thames Valley Police Area Commander for their work on the Operation Ladybird initiative.
The team were commended for “making a significant contribution to managing prolific offenders through the Integrated Offender Management scheme and Operation Ladybird in the local community. This new and innovative approach has resulted in the significant reductions in serious acquisitive crime and offending levels, which is turn has made Bracknell Forest a safer area in which to live and work.”
Operation Ladybird is a partnership between SMART, Thames Valley Police and other local providers. The team work closely together, making visits to problem drug users in the local area. The aim is to encourage people to engage with local services and get support they need, to try and stop the cycle of offending and drug taking.
Darren Worthington, SMART CEO said "The success of Operation Ladybird is the result of partners working together to achieve the same aim. It stands out as an excellent example of how voluntary sector and public sector agencies can pool resources to benefit our communities. I'm delighted that the Bracknell team have been recognized for their hard work and dedication to helping people turn their lives around in extremely difficult circumstances."
Congratulations to the Bracknell Team.
