SMART's key aim is to encourage and assist people with substance misuse issues, and identify appropriate programmes to address their situation.
SMART's approach includes making direct contact with individuals, gaining their trust, and building motivation to make positive choices.
A key feature of SMART, is the value that we place on a user involvement, within the organisation. We endeavour to provide a service that directly reflects the needs of our clients.
Each year, we continue to provide services that tackle substance misuse, including more recently the serious issue of alcohol abuse, and its impact on communities. We now deliver a diverse range of services across the whole of the Thames Valley region.

The Alcohol Referral Service is targeted at hazardous and harmful drinkers, and designed to address the growing problem that links drinking with offending.

Base 16 is a drugs support service that specifically provides treatment for stimulant users.

Counselling is a form of psychological therapy that gives individuals the opportunity to explore in depth their feelings and beliefs.

SMART's Enhanced Arrest Referral service aims to help individuals whose lives have become unmanageable.

This service offers sessions where relatives and carers of people with drug or alcohol problems can get advice and information on how to understand and best support their loved one through recovery.

Advice and support on a wide range of issues related to substance use.

The SMART Mentoring programme is an aftercare provision, which offers training and work experience to people who want to become mentors.

The Oxfordshire Alcohol Service offers a range of services for people having problems with their alcohol use.

SMART’s new Oxfordshire service provides a range of services for people with drug and alcohol issues in the Oxfordshire community.

The Open Access Drop-In service offers a county wide drop-in service at a range of locations.

The Portal Programme is part of SMART's aftercare service, and provides education and personal development skills.

Prison Link is aimed at individuals who have stayed abstinent whilst on remand or in prison, and are looking for on-going support to stay off drugs.

PPOs are a group of offenders, identified by the police, as being of particularly high risk to the community.

Restart Plus is an aftercare service that individuals can access once they have completed, or are near the end of completing, a drug or alcohol treatment programme.
